As school bus costs rise, so do lawmakers' concerns

Lawmakers quizzed state education officials Friday on what they are doing to rein in rising student transportation costs, while considering the agency's $42 million request to preserve bus service on Oahu and the neighbor islands for the coming school year.

Idaho company pays $13 million for Big Island Dairy

An Idaho dairyman has bought the largest dairy in the state with plans to continue expanding the Hawaii island company that supplies fresh milk statewide. The Big Island Dairy farm, with about 900 milking cows, was bought for about $13 million, according to a DLNR report.

Basketball: Rainbows, Idaho match up evenly
